I Need a Permit for...

Certain building / development projects in the Town of Grand Falls require permits before they start. Based on the Town of Grand Falls regulations, projects that require a building / development permit before construction starts are:

  • construction work

  • restoration/renovation work

  • expansion work

  • demolition work

  • building additions

  • change of building use

  • moving a building

  • construction relocation

  • backfill or excavation work

  • new electrical entrance or modifications to existing system

  • patio construction

  • sign installation

  • fence construction

  • installation of a pool that can contain more than 60 centimetres (24 inches) of water

  • radon gas mitigation system

Preferably, you should contact the Land Use and Planning Services department before applying for a building / development permit in order to obtain all necessary information for the permit. You must then visit Town Hall in order for you permit to be issued.

If your work proceeds without the required permit, a fine may be issued and an inspector may issue a stop-work order until a permit is obtained.
