Rain Barrel Program

The town of Grand Falls has established a “share-the-cost” program for the purchase of rain barrels. This program is designed to provide an incentive to the business community or individual residents to save potable water thus improving the environment.

Urban Reforestation Program

The town of Grand Falls has established a “share-the-cost” program for tree planting projects that create or enhance green space within the municipality. This program is designed to provide an incentive to the business community, groups or individual residents to plant more trees thus beautifying our surroundings and improving the environment. This program will develop a stronger sense of community pride and foster greater appreciation for Grand Falls’ natural heritage.

Implementation Greening Grand Falls' Town Services Phase II

This mandate consists of a series of measures aiming at integrating the environment, not only within the town's internal management, but also in the service delivery channel it offers to its population.

Anti-Idling Policy

In 2009, the town of Grand Falls adopted an Anti-Idling Policy limiting engine idling for the entire fleet of municipal vehicles and equipment. It also encourages all drivers to reduce their personal vehicle idling time.

Environment Protection Policy

Since 2010, an Environment Protection Policy has existed in order to encourage best environmental practices at the town of Grand Falls. This policy applies to every employee in the execution of their duties.
